Using our OTA Hosting. (Basic)
A lot of you already are using our OTA hosting and for the most part the video has helped everyone. In this tutorial, I am going to show you how to use our OTA Hosting. This will be a step by step guide and you should get a much better understand of how to use it.
Many Blackberry websites offer OTA hosting for free or a fee. Just like them, we offer a free plan as well as a promo plan. Make sure you take a look at these plans – if you have any questions just email us. Our OTA Hosting is extremely easy to use and once you sign up you will be ready to go. Your theme will be available as soon as you upload them, therefore, you have no wait time. You can also use our ShortURL service and make those long (very long) encrypted links into nice shorter ones.
Please note: Our OTA Hosting service is a different website than our Theme Lab. Therefore, the email you used to register on Blackberry Theme Lab (www.bbthemelab.com) will be (and is) different than your OTA hosting account.
Let’s get started!
Step One
Head over to http://www.bbthemelab.com/bbtlota and login or register. Please verify your account with the email you used when you registered.
Step Two
Once you login create a new folder that represents the theme. For example – if the name of your theme is Styles then create a folder called Styles. If your theme has multiple versions then create a new folder inside of Styles accordingly. For example – if the Styles theme is for the 9700 and 8300, create folders called 9700 and one called 8300. If the 8300 has two versions, create folders accordingly.
To create a folder, click on the Plus sign on the top left corner and choose Add Folder…
Type the folder name into the box that pops up.
Please note: We have the right to delete, erase or move files around without telling you. Please keep things organized!!
Step Three
Once you have created your folders properly it is now time to upload your files.
To upload your files, click on the Plus sign on the top left corner and choose Add siles…
Click on Add file(s)… in the dialog box that pops up. From there, you can browse to your files and choose the .cod files and .jad file. Here is a quick tip, click on the first .cod file in your list, press SHIFT on your keyboard and then click on the last .cod file in your list. This will select all of the .cods and the .jad.
Once you have selected all of your files, press on Open. All of your files will not be in the dialog box within your OTA section.
When you click on Upload, the files will be transfered to the server and you will now be able to access them.
Step Four
Scroll all the way to the bottom (if you have to) and located the .jad file. Click on it and go to Actions then click on Get public link.
Double click on the URL in the dialog box to highlight it, right click it and select copy.
You may use this link to send to people, but at Blackberry Theme Lab we thought this link was just way too long which is why we created a ShortURL service.
Step Five
Go back to the top of the website and choose ShortURL within the page’s navigation.
Paste the link into the provided space by click within the space, right clicking, then going to paste. Click on Make ShortURL.
You will now be given your new ShortURL.
Copy it and paste it in any forums, your website, your friends websites, or our forums.
You can also send that link to your Twitter or Facebook accounts!!!

We will post your theme in our Twitter timeline. Since it is still your theme, you can can post the theme on your Twitter as well if you wish. - Facebook
We will post your theme on our Facebook. Since it is still your theme, you can can post the theme on your Facebook as well if you wish. - For Sale
If you are selling your theme we will sell it on our website also. Visit the our themes page to take a look at the theme we are selling. - Price for Promo
The price for the promo package is well worth it. The cost is – $3.00 a month, $25.00 a year, or $80.00 for a lifetime**.
