Blackberry Theme Lab is a website that really brings everything good to the Blackberry Theming community. However, we seem to be lacking in the news section. Although I would love to keep Blackberry Theme Lab a theming only community, I feel a lot of people on this site will benefit from the news and thoughts of what others may have. Would you like to blog for us?
Blogging for the Lab
Blogging for Blackberry Theme Lab is really no joke. The back end of our WordPress template gives our current writers the chance to insert the main components of site like the buy now buttons, donate button, links, etc. Take a look at the picture below (click on it) – you will see what I am talking about.
There are a few things you should have prior to even thinking about blogging for us.
- Maturity. I spent a ton of time designing this website and the last thing I want is some kid coming in here and talking his/her jibber jabber and making no sense. If you can form well written paragraphs and make sense doing it you are ahead of the game.
- Design Skills. Looking at the image sections from above (the back end) you can see there are spacing for images. You need to have some sort of design skill. You need to put together images that look nice, represent the topic, and will draw attention. I am not looking for people who know the in and outs of Photoshop or Gimp – hell, Big Papa knew nothing about them – but I am looking for someone who knows how to design…. something. At the end of this article you will see the few images you would be working with.
- Research Topics. There are a lot of Blackberry News websites out there. I would love it if you can create your own news. I am not looking for someone who can make news out of nothing – however, do not copy and paste an article from anyones website and post it here. If you find news on any major blogging site and want to post it here – do it! Post it in your own words, your own style, and something that will set our news column off different then everyones else.

Benefits
Blackberry Theme Lab does not pull in a lot of money so do not think you will get rich blogging for this website. As you continue to blog for us, and if you design themes, you can use our icons for anything you may sell. However, you can not do it unless otherwise told. Please do not think you can come in here and five seconds later you put up a theme using our icons but you still haven't blogged a thing for us.
Images
As stated before you will need some sort of design skills. There are six (6) spaces for you to insert an image. However, not all six need to get used. They are used by certain categories. For example, if you are writing a entry for news, you will not need the image for Our Themes. There are times when you do not want to put it on the homepage's image slider – well then – you do not design an image for the Image for Frontpage or the Miniature Picture for Frontpage. The three main images we use here are the BlogHeader, Related Post, and Mobile. Below are examples of each.
