Blackberry Theme Lab understands if this is just way to much information for you to complete your task of creating your ‘dream’ theme. We offer a large array of custom designs from wallpapers, to SVG’s, to icons. We want you to get the best experience out of your Blackberry which is why we offer custom work. Theme Builder is a free program courtesy of Blackberry and we understand that 1) not everyone has photoshop/gimp, 2) not everyone knows how to use them and 3) not everyone knows where to start once they load their imaging software.
Below is a list of custom items you can purchase directly from us. Please keep in mind, this will allow you to use the item only. You can not recreate a theme to give away or sell. You may purchase rights to do so.
Some food for thought.
- Decide on your colors. Colors are probably one of the most important things for a theme. One shade off and you’ll be sorry with that color – trust us!
- Decide on the wallpaper style. Wallpapers are probably the second most important item in the Blackberry theme. More than likely you will change your main wallpaper, but the wallpapers you should make a good choice on is the incoming call, outgoing call (if applicable), and icon screen.
- Decide on the layout. Depending on the operating system you have will depend on the type’s on layout your phone is capable of. Anything under OS 4.5 and we are really limited to what we can do. Here you can view the different types of layouts. Make sure to pick one that you like best.
- Decide on the SVG (if applicable). There is so many things we can do with an SVG, so if you think it and we can do it, we will!
- Some other things to think about are font size, font color, and the overall look of your theme.
Some food for thought.
- Not only are icons are most important part of your theme, they make your theme. You may have all the specs you ever wanted but it will be the icons taht come out on top. The ideas can be endless for custom icons so make sure you think about your theme and then use the same thought process for your icons. The style of them, color, size, etc is all important when coming up with a new design for icons. Blackberry Theme Lab is here to help if you have any questions just let us know.
Some food for thought.
- Hotspots. Hotspots makes it easy for you to click around your theme. If you want a hidden button behind the clock to open up the clock, this would be considered a hotspot. If you have a Blackberry Storm and you want to click on the main screen to pull up your messages, that would also be considered a hotspot. Take the time to think how many you want, where you want them, and for what purpose.
- Hidden Dock. When the Droid phones first made their appearence they had a dock that slide up and down. You can do with with your Blackberry with the use of SVG code. Although this is very easy to do, some people may not want to bother with the code which is why we are here to help. You can hide your dock anywhere, top, bottom, left side, right side, etc. The best thing about a hidden dock is it displays a lot more of your wallpaper.
- Sliding Dock. A sliding dock allows you to have a lot of icons on the home screen but not take up a lot of space. You can have your icons slide left to right or up and down. The possibilities are endless!
- Hotkeys. A hotkey will allow you to press a button and open an application, move icons, or hide icons. Why not have F open up the facebook app.

- There is no doubt about it – you can find any kind of wallpaper/background on the internet. However, it may be really hard to find the one you really want. How about for the holidays you put up a picture of your family with snow, pumpkins, beach, etc around them? Or you want to get a wallpaper with your boyfriends, girlfriends, wifes, or husbands name on it? You want a wallpaper of a memorial of someone who passed away?
